Biography

Biography

Rene Eijkemans obtained an MSc in Mathematics from Delft University of Technology.  He has been working as a researcher and statistical consultant in a wide variety of clinical settings: cardiology, cancer, gynecology, thoracic and general surgery and virology, with an emphasis on prediction models in reproductive medicine.  In total, he has (co)authored more than 80 international peer reviewed articles on predictive models, with various clinical purposes, in reproductive medicine, making him world-leading in that area.  he has gradually shifted his focus to 'omics' research and machine learning. His current research topic, ‘making prediction and classification modelling more clinically useful’, is the natural confluence of these activities in machine learning, his experience in a variety of clinical settings and his knowledge of what is required for clinical application of predictive models.
