Biography

Jeanine Houwing-Duistermaat obtained a PhD from Leiden University. She was awarded a VIDI grant on development of statistical methods for the analyses of family data. In 2010 she became full professor at Leiden University. Since 2015 she is appointed as chair in data analytics and statistics at the school of mathematics, University of Leeds. Since 2018 she also has a positionĀ at the Julius Center, UMCU.

Jeanine's interest is in development of novel methods for complex datasets such as family, omics and temporal datasets. She publishes in high impact applied and in methodological journals. She was co-editor of Biometrics, which is the journal of the International Biometric Society. She was president of the Dutch region of this Society (ANED). She coordinated the FP7 funded MIMOmics consortia and currently coordinates the ITN IMforFUTURE in which both UMCU and the University of Leeds are involved.
